Founded in 1949
Founded as a family-owned business, SSA Marine has always put people first. We prioritize our employees and client interests to deliver results that everyone can feel good about. Since our beginnings 75 years ago, we have grown to more than 20,000 employees worldwide—but with the same people-first philosophy we started with.

Leadership team

Uffe Ostergaard
Mr. Ostergaard has worked in the container shipping industry for the past 30 years and joined Carrix as Chief Executive Officer in 2023. He spent the first 20 years of his career with Maersk, predominantly in the Copenhagen head office but also in various management positions in Europe, Africa and Asia. During this period Mr. Ostergaard worked in trade management, served as Managing Director in various countries and held positions as Senior Director for Strategy and Head of Global Marketing. In 2013, Mr. Ostergaard joined UASC as Chief Commercial Officer and member of Executive Management in Dubai, with responsibility for all global commercial activities. As part of that role, he also held Board positions and was Chairman of organizations in China, India, and U.S.A. As part of the merger with Hapag Lloyd in 2017 he became member of the Executive Committee and from April 1, 2018, he took over the position of President of Hapag-Lloyd (America) LLC responsible for all activities in U.S.A. and Canada.

Jaime Neal
Ms. Neal joined Carrix in 2007 as Associate General Counsel and later served as both VP of Finance & Legal and SVP & Treasurer, before being promoted to CFO in 2024.
She is a graduate of Western Washington University and Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington. She was previously a corporate and finance attorney with the Seattle firms of Dorsey & Whitney, LLP and Stoel Rives, LLP.
Ms. Neal currently oversees all of Carrix’s financial, banking, legal, government relations and risk management functions and is involved with project developments and other transactional projects.

Nicolas Gauthier
Mr. Gauthier joined SSA Marine in 2024 as President of the company’s global container division.
In his role, Mr. Gauthier oversees SSA Marine’s container terminal concessions across the United States, Mexico, Panama, Canada, Chile, Colombia, and Vietnam.
He joined the company from DP World, where he served as CEO of DP World Peru. Mr. Gauthier started with the company in 2019 as CEO of DP World Ecuador. Prior, Gauthier spent seven years as CEO of PortSynergy Group, the largest container terminal operator in France.

Lauren Offenbecher
Ms. Offenbecher joined SS Marine in 2011 as Associate General Counsel, and later served as Director of Strategy before becoming President of the company’s conventional cargo division in 2022.
In this role, Ms. Offenbecher manages a diverse portfolio of operations and services across 65 locations in the United States and Canada.
She is a graduate of Santa Clara University and the University of Washington where she obtained an MBA and JD. She previously was an associate with Dorsey & Whitney, LLP in Seattle.

Stefano Borzone
Mr. Borzone joined SSA Marine in 2024 as President of the company’s cruise division.
In this role, Mr. Borzone oversees all SSA Marine cruise operations, while collaborating closely with all joint venture partners, customers, and port authorities.
A veteran port operations and development executive, Mr. Borzone spent several years in senior vice president roles with Carnival Corporation, as well as 13 years with Metro Cruise Services, where he served as president.

Manuel Fernandez
Mr. Fernandez has served as the Chief Executive Officer of SSA Marine Mexico since 2014. In this capacity, he oversees eight port terminals in six of Mexico’s ports. Previously, Mr. Fernandez served in several senior fiscal and industrial policy management roles in the public and private sectors, including as the Chief Financial Officer for Mexico and Latin America at Chrysler/ Daimler Chrysler México. Mr. Fernandez holds an M.A. & Ph.D. ABD from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree from ITAM University where he also was a professor.

Jim Downing
Mr. Downing joined Carrix and SSA Marine in 2024 as Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
Most recently, Mr. Downing held similar roles with NW Natural Gas in Oregon and was CIO for the Americas division of WorleyParsons, overseeing IT operations across North and South America. He also held executive IT positions at British Petroleum and Schlumberger.
Mr. Downing holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and an Executive MBA from Tulane University.

Gareth Maguire
Mr. Maguire joined Carrix and SSA Marine in 2023 as Senior Vice President of Business Development.
He has deep international experience in private equity and infrastructure funds management, including M&A transaction origination and execution, fund and investment management, and corporate strategy and business development.
Prior to joining Carrix and SSA Marine, Mr. Maguire was Chief Investment Officer of Ceres Terminals, Inc., and Senior Vice President with Macquarie Group.

Meghan Weinman
Ms. Weinman joined Carrix and SSA Marine in 2024 as Vice President of Sustainability.
She is an industry leader across the sustainability, transportation, and environment sectors and has worked throughout North America and internationally, including Latin America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
Prior to joining Carrix and SSA Marine, Ms. Weinman was a Managing Director at Edison Energy, leading the Transportation Electrification and Clean Energy Practice. She has also served in roles in management, engineering, and consulting across sustainability and built infrastructure.
Ms. Weinman has served as a mentor for the Clean Tech Alliance, an industry advisor at Kellogg School of Management, and is also a frequent speaker on topics relating to sustainability, transportation, clean energy transition, climate, and women in leadership.

Brant Rigby
Mr. Rigby joined Carrix and SSA Marine in 2022 as Vice President of Human Resources.
Prior to joining Carrix and SSA Marine, Mr. Rigby served as Vice President of Human Resources for Trident Seafoods for nine years, as well as executive leadership roles with Haggen, Inc., Whole Foods Markets, Earthbound Farm, and the Sabroso Company.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources from BYU, and an MBA from Southern Oregon University.
